TOP WEDDING PHOTO SHOOT POSES FOR NON-POSEY COUPLES

Let me guess. You’re here because you’re worried that your wedding photographs will look too posey and unnatural. You’ve never been in front of the camera, but you’re dreaming of your wedding photographs to look like those inspirational pictures you see all over Instagram. Well, congratulations! You’re in the right place! I’m here to give you my top tips and ideas for wedding photo shoot poses.

One of my main goals as your wedding photographer is to capture authentic moments and feelings between the two of you. With that being said, I completely understand how nervous and/or awkward you might feel in front of a camera. So, here are 6 non-posey prompts I use with my couples to get them feeling comfortable and looking effortlessly on-point! You'll see photographs from the weddings and engagement photoshoots I’ve done with my couples to show the poses in action.

MY TOP WEDDING SHOOT POSES

1. WALK HAND IN HAND TOWARDS THE CAMERA

2. FOLLOW THE LEADER

3. PULL HER CLOSE

4. SIT AND SNUGGLE

5. CUDDLE AND HAVE A MOMENT TO YOURSELVES

6. WALK AWAY

As you can see, these wedding photo shoot poses consist of things that you would normally do with your loved one on a daily basis. It may seem like it’s nothing special, but that’s the whole point! Being in front of the camera doesn’t mean that you have to act any differently. Because we want it to look un-staged, and as natural as possible, right?

Being photographed doesn't have to be as stressful or awkward as you may think! These small moments that we repeat in our day-to-day lives become so special on your wedding day. And they make the most beautiful images too!

To make the most of the location and you throughout the day, I'm constantly looking for opportunities to get a shot that isn't posed but is considered and intentional.
