A COMPLETE GUIDE TO YOUR DREAM PUGLIA WEDDING

If you’re in the initial stages of planning your dream destination wedding… let me give you a recommendation! I’ve had the privilege to participate in a workshop held by the amazing Tavola Retreat back in 2020, and I’ve been obsessed with this little paradise ever since. Based on the heel of the Italian “boot”, Puglia is an area that is often overlooked for other popular cities in Italy. Which is fantastic news for couples who are having a Puglia wedding because it means it won’t be too touristy! But still offers a range of stunning views all around this delightful region of Italy. This also means that having a wedding in Puglia can be a more cost-effective option compared to other locations in Italy.

From cute villages and beautiful coastlines to quaint countryside vibes, you can find the oh-so-Italian lifestyle in every corner. Puglia is known for its Masserias and Trullis. These are ancient buildings that used to be owned by wealthy families of farmers and breeders. I love that so many Puglia wedding venues stay true to their agricultural roots. It’s honestly like nowhere else!

Today, I’m going to introduce you to 3 of my top wedding venues in Puglia, Italy. You'll see some of my favourite images that I captured from the Puglia wedding workshops.

MY FAVOURITE PUGLIA WEDDING VENUES

1. LOCANDA DON FERRANTE

If you’re opting for a more intimate destination wedding, this one is for you. This magnificent hotel offers the best view of the Adriatic sea on one side and whitewashed houses on the other in which to host your intimate Puglia wedding. With just 10 rooms, Locanda Don Ferrante is a luxury hideaway. It features pretty patios and a rooftop pool to soak up the dazzling Adriatic views. As it is surrounded by ancient churches and narrow alleyways that make up the historical town, you will have a variety of backdrops to choose from for your wedding portraits that scream paradise!

2. NINA TRULLI RESORT

Nina Trulli Resort is located in a small village nestled in Italy’s most serene countryside. You can find long dazzling roads, large whitewashed buildings that turn blue in the evening, and lots of vineyards. This venue’s history dates back to the 1730s, and it was renovated to accommodate weddings while preserving the essence of its origins. The wooden beams where the cheese was hung to ripen. The ancient stone flooring. And not to forget the trullis, which are the traditional Apulian dry stone huts with a corbelled roof all add to the authenticity of this gorgeous venue. It’s such a cosy, Italian-like space that'll wake you up in the morning feeling like you’re living your dream Puglia wedding story.

3. MASSERIA CASELLI HOTEL RICEVIMENTI

This charming wedding venue is located in the heart of Puglia. The main area is called “Sala delle Ninfe”. It is an exposed space with a pool surrounded by tufa masonry that can accommodate up to 350 guests for your wedding reception. Taking advantage of the ancient structure and combining it with elegant furnishings, this space gives such a unique feeling especially at night time when the pool and palm trees are lit up. But it gets even better… Imagine having dinner with your loved ones on the terrace, which overlooks the crystal clear sea of the Adriatic coast. It honestly can’t get much better.

As a wedding photographer who fell in love with the city, I couldn’t help but write this blog. If you’re thinking of having a Puglia wedding or a destination wedding, I hope I was able to inspire you. Contact me via this form if you’re looking for a destination wedding photographer.
