THREE STUNNING REGISTRY OFFICE VENUES FOR LONDON TOWN HALL WEDDINGS

Registry office weddings are becoming increasingly popular, especially for those who are opting for a more intimate wedding. I’ve had the chance to photograph so many London town hall weddings over the years, so I’m here to share three of my favourite registry office wedding venues in London!

Old Marylebone Town Hall

Old Marylebone Town Hall is a magnificent wedding ceremony venue that is quintessential to London. Its iconic steps and Greek inspired Corinthian columns have been a scene to mark a new chapter for many love stories, including ones of celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney. It’s a venue that my couples keep bringing me back to, so when someone says London town hall weddings, the first venue that comes to my mind is this one for sure!

The venue offers seven luxury ceremony rooms of an array of sizes and themes, all featuring a blend of classic and modern interiors and furnishings. Every corner of this venue is absolutely stunning, and needless to say that the staff there are one of the best wedding hosts in London. It’s a simply beautiful place to make your vows.

Maya and Adam’s wedding was very chic and moody. Maya wore a black wedding dress, and they brought some skull decor from home to make the space their own.

Vy and Dom had an elegant, classic wedding ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall. A little fun story… while we were doing group shots, Sam Smith came past to go to another wedding there and he asked to borrow some confetti! There’s a good chance that you’ll meet a celebrity considering how recognised this venue is (wink)

Chelsea Town Hall

Chelsea is one of my favourite parts of London. Located on the north of River Thames, the neighbourhood is absolutely stunning. It’s known for its posh residents, high-end shopping, and historical buildings.

Chelsea Town Hall has been one of the most iconic of London registry offices since the 70s. I’ve seen countless couples celebrate their marriage with a confetti throw on the Chelsea town hall steps. This venue has also been named as one of the world’s 50 best wedding locations by The Independent. No wonder people from all over the world and the royal borough itself choose this venue for their London town hall weddings!

This newly refurbished, Grade II late Victorian building offers three unique ceremony rooms, which you can choose depending on your style and size of wedding. Lyvie and Theo got married in the Harrington room.

One thing I always recommend for couples getting married at Chelsea Town Hall is to allow plenty of time for couple portraits after the ceremony. There are so many pretty corners in the neighbourhood, including the famous love sign, the lush flowers outside the ivy, the beautiful streets & houses, and the Battersea bridge / park.

Below are a few pictures from an engagement that I did in Chealsea with Jo and Joshua, just to show how pretty this neighbourhood is!

Islington Town Hall

If you’re looking for an intimate town hall wedding venue that oozes elegance, this one is for you.

Islington Town Hall is situated on the main street of the fashionable Islington district - Upper Street. The area is full of excitement, with impressive restaurants, lively bars, and famous theatres. This means that you can enjoy all the bars and restaurants to have your reception in! Despite its urban location, Islington is still home to plenty of green spaces where you can get stunning outdoor wedding portraits taken.

Islington Town Hall offer three ceremony rooms, which all have its unique character. But the interior of this venue is consistent throughout, featuring Art Deco detailing all around the building. You are greeted with a sweeping marble staircase when you enter, which makes a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding photographs.

I had come across many wedding photos in the halls as inspiration, so I was super excited to get my own at Bre and Stu’s wedding this summer!

I absolutely love shooting London town hall weddings, so please reach out to me via this form if you’re thinking of having one. As someone who’s shot many London town hall weddings, I’d be more than happy to recommend to you some of my favourite places around these venues!
