5 Reasons to Have An Urban London Wedding

These two Londoners had the ultimate urban wedding. Quirky, hipster Peckham is their local hub. Vibrant, with culture in spades it felt right to have both the ceremony and celebrations in SE15. The Peckham Asylum Chapel is a dream venue. Miranda and Sam truly made it their own. The whole day was amazing to photograph! We were able to incorporate more than your usual images as Miranda and Sam included elements to the humanist ceremony such as a string quartet, lush plants and potted foliage. Post-nuptials, we headed to their favourite spot, Franks Cafe, before heading into the Lordship Pub in Dulwich to dance the night away for their evening reception.

Your guests will appreciate keeping things local. Amenities such as Uber provide easy transportation, especially fortunate for those who want to drink more than a toast to the happy couple. You will be thankful you won't have to travel for ages (delayed flights, anyone?) and finally how good is it when you don’t have to pay for accommodation?! Having your loved ones witness you partnering with the love of your life and sleeping in your own bed after? Dream day.

2. KEEP YOUR OPTIONS OPEN.

There are so many epic venues to choose from! The Peckham Asylum is particularly cool and unique. It's run by Maverick Projects who do lots of arty projects in this space. They're super helpful and will help you customise your wedding. The place is beautiful on its own but you can add candles, fairy lights, plants - basically anything. And there's a great spot for confetti out the front!

3. DOING IT FOR THE ‘GRAM.

Looking up in London transports you through time and history. The architecture heralds the might and majesty of Britain’s timeline with centuries of trials and triumphs, poets, authors, artists, inventors and engineers. Everywhere is a building, gate, brick wall, or other that is testament to the life London has lived. In other words, darling - it looks super cool in photographs! Why not capture the city that also plays an important role in the gloriousness of your relationship by someone with a trained eye and passion for photography. That heritage building with the ornate columns? Where we first met! Those industrial lanes with the markets? Our first date! Telegraph Hill Park? Where he proposed…we get a puppy!

A urban London wedding means there is a whole host of diverse suppliers who can make it all happen for you! Whatever style or culture you're into, there's a wedding supplier for you. You can have your cake and eat it too… … and a signature cocktail. ….and a floral peony wall…..and a ukulele trio…….....and an awesome Kiwi photographer!

5. ROCK THE NIGHT AWAY.

You can party until the wee hours - London venues generally allow you to stay open later.
