Wedding Photo & Video Fusion...What does this even mean? Well pals, let's rewind a little and I'll get this explanation going. In the words of Marie Forleo, I’m a Multi-Passionate Gal. Choosing one thing to focus my career and passion on has always been a struggle. Even as a teenager, I had a love of Art, design, photography and media which made deciding which direction to go in super challenging! Hence choosing the only Graphic Design Degree that offered a Major in Photography.
Fast forward 13 years and the wedding industry has become my number one passion. I love everything about being a wedding photographer and I truly believe my varied creative endeavours have a massive impact on my business and my art. Now I’ve found a way to integrate another passion into my business - Film-making.
Over the last few years I’ve seen more and more demand for a photo & video combined packages within the industry. My couples are wanting a short highlight film of their day, a little video clip style summary to accompany their wedding photos. Wedding films are becoming shorter, more artistic and more fun. Why shouldn’t they be? These days there really are no rules and your wedding day can be as out there as you want it to be! From black wedding dresses to boho themed days, hiking adventures to helicopter trips - it’s your wedding, do it your way! I love seeing my couples unique dreams come to life, and film has given me a whole new medium to capture these amazing moments
SO, HOW DOES WEDDING PHOTO & VIDEO FUSION WORK?
Essentially, throughout the wedding day I’ll take snippits of video along with the photos. I have a little voice recorder to record the speeches and ceremony without all the faff of complicated equipment. I always carry two cameras on a wedding day, and if I’m shooting fusion, one of them will be dedicated to filming. I'll usually be working with a second photographer too which means you’ll get double coverage of the day - woohoo! I shoot totally hand held and focus on all aspects of the day - the scenery, the emotions and all the special moments.
WHAT KIND OF VIDEO WILL YOU END UP WITH?
Well, it’s my goal to capture your wedding day as YOUR wedding day. If it’s a fun party festival wedding, the film will be vibrant, fast paced and energetic. If it’s more of an intimate day, I’ll be working with a more emotionally charged, calm and beautiful aesthetic. I edit your film to music and that massively impacts the vibe of the film, so I’ll be running a few music options past you before I begin the edit. Together we can make some magic!! A wedding day highlight film is 2-4 minutes long and may include some audio from the day.
